Day 108 - Ubud, Bali

Woke up and unfortunately checked out of our sweet digs and took a bemo for 50000Rp to Ubud. We ended up walking around trying to orient ourselves but realized weren't dropped off anywhere near where we had asked. We were at least 1km away it was 35C outside. DAMN! After refusing rides from several people on motorcycles trying to make money, we got into another bemo for 10000Rp and were dropped to the area we had originally requested. Thank god.

We found accommodation at a place called Suri Nadi for 100000Rp a night for the 2 of us and it had a hot shower and breakfast was included. Fantastic I thought. Until we actually dropped our bags and looked around. There were ants everywhere. Fine, this is South East Asia and there will be ants but this was nuts. The guy that owned the place put down a bunch of stuff to kill them and within hours we were walking all over the ant carcasses. It was quite gross.

On the brighter side of things, lunch was amazing. There's a place called Juice Ja Cafe and the food was brilliant. The rest of the day consisted of walking around and getting a massage and body scrub at a place called Bumi Bali. For 120000Rp ($12), I got a 1 hour Balinese massage, body scrub, yogurt bath and soaked in bathtub filled with fragrant oils and flower petals for an additional hour. It was amazing. I love Bali!
