Today I caught the 11:40am ferry to Koh Samui for 200B. The boat was so full of people there was only standing space left when we boarded. I ended up sitting on the floor at the end of the aisle. We arrived on Koh Samui in an hour and proceeded to be harrassed by taxi drivers once we got off the boat. Here all the taxis say "metered taxi" on them but none of them actually have meters inside them. All cabs charge flat fees as well. It's quite ridiculous. Checked into a hotel called P. Chaweng for 500B a night and we were in the middle of the city. It was great.

This island is more populated than both Koh Tao and Koh Phangnan so things were way cheaper here. The prices were closer to those of the mainland, especially for the internet which was super inflated on the other islands. This place is definitely more touristy, there are a couple of McDonald's, 7-11s and even a Yogen Fruz. This will be a good place to chill out for a bit.
